Baby Bunny Update

There are now four baby buns instead of five. Very sad, but the four remaining ones are fat, happy and seem quite healthy.

Sleepy Bunnies

They are starting to open their eyes as well as climb out of the nest box. The colors still seem to be "blue", "chocolate" and white, although, there are still possible modifications to the "white". It is pretty hard to determine the final color of baby rabbits when they are so young. I don't know the eye color yet, although I'm pretty sure it will be "ruby" and they could still get some "points" on their nose, which would basically mean black noses. The sire, Morpheus, has that in his chart, we will see if it shows up. The mother of this litter is TLH Dolce so both these parents are imports.

In the rest of the rabbit world, June's Trinity has been having a "date" with City Slicker for a week, so there will hopefully be baby bunbuns in about a month from those two. Trinity is an "agouti" which is sort of the wild rabbit color pattern and City Slicker is "blue". It will be interesting to see what colors show up from them.

We are hoping to see some babies from Bumblebeeacres Forever, aka "Cloud" within the next several days. She is the mother of half our rabbit herd but the sire of this litter will be Morpheus so we can hopefully see colors other than black and white from Cloud. Cloud is a Ruby Eyed White and Morpheus is a Black rabbit although he carries recessives for brown and blue. We aren't sure if Cloud carries any recessives at all and I suspect she would be a black rabbit if she wasn't an albino but I'd have to go check her chart to be sure.
