Meet your Fiber Providers!

Since the bunnies here provide fiber for the different colors of Hula Bunny yarns, they've been sorted out into their respective color groupings so you'll be able to see who provided the fiber for your yarn.

English angoras come in a lot of different lovely colors. This is a good thing since it allows us to make yarn in lovely colors that doesn't need to be dyed. The three standard colors of Hula Bunny yarn only get their color from the fiber provided by the bunnies here at Hillside Farm Hawaii. The three standard colors are 'Beach Bunny', 'Moonlit Dance' and 'Coconut Dream'.

The Beach Bunny color is a warm sandy color and comes from the tortoiseshell, fawn, lilac, chocolate and agouti colors of the bunnies here. At the moment we don't have all that many of those colors, so we need more of these color of bunnies to provide more fiber for the Beach Bunny color of yarn.

The Moonlit Dance color of Hula Bunny yarn is a nice silvery gray color. The color you'd expect the moon to be if there were bunnies dancing under a full moon, don't you think? Bunnies do strange things, I could well imagine they dance under a full moon, especially I think they'd like to dance when no humans are watching. I'm sure they'd want everybunny else to be paying close attention, though. In any case, 'Moonlit Dance' is a lovely silvery color of yarn. It is made from the fiber we get from the black and the blue colors of the bunnies here. At the moment, we have more black bunnies than any other color so we should have more Moonlit Dance than any other color of Hula Bunny yarns.

When we have enough fiber from the Moonlit Dance colors of bunnies, we occasionally have a run of 'Lava Rocks' color of Hula Bunny yarn made. Lava Rocks is the same yarn as our 'Moonlit Dance' color except it has black Merino fibers instead of white Merino. It is a much darker gray than the silvery Moonlit Dance and we don't always have it available. But, it's made with the Moonlit Dance bunnies.

The last 'standard' color of Hula Bunny yarn is 'Coconut Dream'. It's a creamy white color and comes from the Ruby Eyed White albino bunnies here at Hillside Farm. At the moment (June 2023), we only have one white bunny so until we get more white babies here, the Coconut Dream color is going to be in very short supply.
